Group Manager - Legal (Maternity Cover)

Contextual Overview

DP World is seeking a qualified legal professional for a Group Manager - Legal (Maternity Cover) position based in Dubai, UAE. This 6-month temporary role focuses on providing commercially focused legal guidance, advice, and assistance to the Group Technology division across a broad range of legal and compliance matters, including information technology, intellectual property, data, and e-commerce.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Law Degree from an accredited university (England & Wales preferred; commonwealth qualifications will be considered).
• Qualification to practice law from a recognized legal regulatory body.
• Minimum of 8 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in an internationally recognized law firm and/or multinational company (candidates with different PQE levels will also be considered).
• Preferred: Prior working experience in the Middle East region.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Provide effective, reliable, and user-friendly support and advice to the Group Technology team on commercial contract transactions.
• Review, draft, and negotiate a broad range of legal documents (specifically IT, IP, data, and e-commerce agreements/terms).
• Make clear, commercially focused recommendations on contract issues and effectively escalate non-standard terms.
• Act as a liaison between commercial colleagues and the Group Director - Legal, providing reporting to senior leadership.
• Act as an ambassador for DP World, upholding the company's code of conduct, ethics, and safety standards.
