Solicitor (Family)

Contextual Overview

EMG Solicitors, an award-winning Legal 500 law firm specializing in various practice areas including Family Law and Mediation, is seeking an experienced and ambitious Family Solicitor to join their team. Based primarily out of the Darlington office, this full-time role involves handling a comprehensive caseload of private family matters.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Qualified Solicitor holding valid post-qualification experience in family law (ideally 1-3 years + PQE).
• Demonstrated experience managing a varied family law caseload encompassing divorce, financial remedy, private children matters, cohabitation disputes, and pre-/post-nuptial agreements.
• Strong technical knowledge of family law and current legislation with practical, client-focused advisory capabilities.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Manage a dedicated caseload of private family matters including divorce, dissolution of civil partnerships, financial remedy, separation agreements, cohabitation agreements, and child arrangements.
• Maintain high standards of client care, professional file management, and compliance hygiene.
• Actively contribute to networking, business development activities, and raising the profile of the Family team within the local community.

Stipend, Compensation & Mode

Compensation: Competitive salary with a firm-wide annual bonus scheme and comprehensive employee benefits package (including pension contributions, life assurance, and wellbeing programs).

Mode: Full-time (35 hours/week with flexible working arrangements based in Darlington with occasional travel).
