Associate General Counsel

EnergyHub, a company specializing in distributed energy resources and virtual power plants, is seeking an Associate General Counsel to join its legal team in Brooklyn, NY. This role involves providing comprehensive legal support for a high-growth software business, focusing on commercial transactions, regulatory compliance, and corporate strategy within the climate tech sector.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Education: J.D. from a leading law school.
• Licensure: Membership in or eligibility for admission to the New York Bar.
• Experience: Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in an in-house or large law firm environment.
• Industry Knowledge: Demonstrated experience in the software or technology industry.
• Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (Sponsorship is not available).

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Draft, review, and negotiate diverse commercial agreements, including software, technology, services, and licensing contracts.
• Provide legal advice on privacy, intellectual property, compliance, and regulatory matters.
• Collaborate with executive, sales, and product teams to scale legal processes and manage risk.
• Coordinate with the Alarm.com legal team and manage outside counsel or internal paralegal resources.
• Develop and implement compliance policies to support strategic business objectives.
