Fieldfisher is inviting applications for the role of Employment Associate within its Employment team, with the position open across its London, Manchester, or Birmingham offices in the United Kingdom. The role involves delivering pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice on a broad range of employment law matters, including workplace disputes, strategic people issues, business restructurings, cross-border employment issues, and employment aspects of corporate transactions.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Qualification: Qualified solicitor in England & Wales (or equivalent legal qualification).
• Technical Expertise: Strong technical skills in employment law, solid commercial judgement, and experience managing complex advisory and contentious legal matters.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, presentation, networking, and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Casework & Advisory Support: Assist with employment litigation (preparing ET3s, drafting schedules of loss, legal research, advocacy preparation) and workplace investigations.
• Advisory Matters: Advise on disciplinary/grievance processes, redundancies, TUPE, employment status, and senior exits.
• Transformation Projects: Support organizational change programmes, restructurings, and outsourcing projects, including drafting consultation materials.
• Client & Business Development: Draft commercial advice, participate in client meetings, contribute to client training, webinars, and thought leadership projects.
• Team Leadership & Administration: Support junior lawyers and trainees, assist with billing and file management, and collaborate across international offices.
