Fisher Investments, a global investment management firm with over 45 years of operation, is hiring a full-time Legal Counsel to join its in-house legal team at its Camas, Washington office. The role spans financial services regulation, employment law, privacy law, corporate and commercial matters, and international regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions including the US, UK, Europe, Canada, Australia, Asia, and the Middle East.

Key Eligibility Criteria

Law degree from an accredited law school with active bar admission
Minimum 6+ years of post-qualification experience
At least 3 years of experience at a mid-to-large sized law firm
Demonstrated ability to balance business interests against legal and regulatory risks
Familiarity with international investment management, employment, or privacy laws is beneficial but not mandatory

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

Research and provide legal and regulatory analysis on financial services, investment management, privacy, employment, and other laws globally
Translate complex legal analysis into practical, succinct advice for business teams
Participate in ad-hoc regulatory and business projects, including implementation of new legislation
Support launch of new regulated entities (incorporation and licensing)
Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, employment agreements, investment management agreements, fund documentation, policies, and business guidelines
Handle corporate law, commercial matters, employment law, and litigation matters
Coordinate with external counsel on various matters
Train and mentor paralegals, fellow lawyers, and business colleagues on regulatory changes

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: USD $195,000 – $285,000 per year (Washington State); new hires expected to start at the lower end based on experience
Bonus: Eligible for discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance
