Commercial Counsel

Contextual Overview

Fivetran is hiring a full-time, remote Commercial Legal Counsel based out of its Dublin, Ireland office. This role serves as a key legal partner and liaison to Fivetran’s enterprise sales team and internal stakeholders across the EMEA region. The Commercial Counsel will draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, manage customer agreements, and provide strategic legal guidance on SaaS transactions and data privacy compliance.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Qualification: Qualified solicitor/lawyer (or equivalent) admitted to practice in Ireland, England & Wales, or another European jurisdiction.
• Experience: Approximately 5 years of experience negotiating commercial contracts at high-growth technology companies, with expertise in SaaS, enterprise B2B transactions, and data processing agreements (GDPR compliance).
• Language Proficiency: Professional fluency in both English and French is mandatory to support EMEA and French-speaking markets.
• Key Competencies: Strong knowledge of global commercial transactions, contract lifecycle management, legal operations processes, and excellent written/verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Review, draft, revise, and negotiate commercial contracts and customer paper agreements across the EMEA region.
• Act as a primary legal contact for Fivetran's EMEA enterprise sales team, providing guidance, training, and operational support.
• Maintain, update, and operationalize legal playbooks and contract templates within contract management tools (Ironclad, SFDC).
• Collaborate with the product team to evaluate the legal impact of product updates on existing and prospective customer contracts.
• Monitor legal developments in SaaS, data privacy regulations (EU/UK requirements), and emerging legal trends.

Stipend, Compensation & Mode

• Employment Type: Full-time (Remote from Dublin, Ireland).
• Compensation: Salary amount is Not Specified. Includes RSU stock grants, 100% employer-paid medical insurance, paid time-off (PTO), holiday leave (including year-end Global Week of Rest), and a monthly cell phone stipend.
