Legal Counsel

Contextual Overview

Gotion Inc., a leader in electric vehicle and energy storage technology, is seeking a Legal Counsel to serve as the primary legal advisor for its new manufacturing facility in Manteno, IL. This role focuses on labor relations, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance within the U.S. manufacturing sector.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Education: Juris Doctor (JD) or Master of Laws (LL.M.) from an accredited institution.
• Licensure: Active license to practice law in Illinois (or ability to obtain in a timely manner).
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant legal experience, with a preference for in-house manufacturing backgrounds.
• Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency in labor and employment law, including union negotiations and dispute resolution.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Serve as the primary legal point of contact for the Manteno plant.
• Advise management on labor relations, employee grievances, and compliance with Illinois labor regulations.
• Draft and negotiate commercial contracts and corporate agreements.
• Oversee environmental compliance and corporate governance programs.
• Collaborate with HR and external counsel on complex legal matters.

Stipend, Compensation & Mode

Base Salary: $180,000 – $250,000 per annum, plus eligibility for bonus and benefits. Compensation is commensurate with experience and location.
