Role Overview
Happen Bank is seeking a Sr Corporate Counsel - Consumer Lending to provide strategic legal support for its consumer finance operations, including unsecured lending, auto loan refinancing, and point-of-sale financing. This role involves advising on product development, regulatory compliance, and marketing materials in a hybrid work environment.
Key Eligibility Criteria
- Education: J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Licensure: Active license in good standing in at least one U.S. state.
- Experience: 3-5 years of legal experience (law firm, government, or in-house); minimum 1-2 years in consumer finance law (TILA, ECOA, FCRA, UDAAP, etc.).
- Skills: Ability to manage multiple transactions and influence business stakeholders.
Responsibilities & Scope
- Deliver tactical legal support for consumer lending products.
- Advise on new product development and regulatory changes.
- Partner with the Compliance team to manage risk and respond to consumer complaints.
- Monitor federal and state regulatory developments impacting lending and servicing.
Stipend & Compensation
Base Salary: $137,000 - $220,000 per annum, plus eligibility for equity and annual performance bonuses.
