Senior Legal Counsel (In‑House) – Holt Renfrew
Holt Renfrew, a luxury fashion retailer headquartered in Toronto, Canada, is hiring a senior‑level in‑house counsel to advise on a broad spectrum of corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters.
Eligibility
- Juris Doctor (JD) or Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from an accredited law school
- Member in good standing with the Ontario bar
- Minimum 8 years post‑call experience (large national law firm or comparable in‑house setting)
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements (vendor, master service, SOWs, product, NDAs, licensing, IT, marketing)
- Provide guidance on contract interpretation, risk allocation, and negotiation strategy
- Support product, marketing, procurement, and IT teams on commercial transactions
- Lead project teams on legal and regulatory requirements
- Advise on intellectual property, real estate, and marketing initiatives
- Review board materials, corporate records, and minute books; ensure statutory compliance
- Support privacy, data security, anti‑bribery, competition law, and workplace policies
- Conduct internal training on legal and compliance topics
- Identify and mitigate legal risks; manage internal investigations and regulatory inquiries
- Work with HR on employment agreements and policy updates; support finance on contract audits and filings
Compensation & Benefits
