Overview
The Housing & Development Board (HDB) is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its Litigation & Enforcement Department in Singapore. This full-time position is offered on a 1 + 1 year contract basis. The successful candidate will play a key role in advising on legislative matters, enforcement actions, tenancy agreements, and representing HDB in regulatory prosecution and court proceedings.
Key Eligibility Criteria
- Education: Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree.
- Professional Qualification: Admission as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore.
- Experience: At least 5 years of relevant legal experience preferred. Candidates with experience in prosecuting regulatory offences are preferred.
Responsibilities & Scope of Work
- Provide legal advice on legislation administered by or relevant to HDB.
- Advise on enforcement actions, property disputes, and litigation involving residential and commercial properties.
- Advise on prosecution matters under HDB's purview, including offences under the Housing & Development Act, Parking Places Act, and other relevant laws.
- Review and advise on tenancy agreements and commercial contractual documents.
- Represent HDB in court proceedings, applications, and prosecution hearings.
