Associate – Property Litigation

Contextual Overview

JB Leitch Ltd is seeking a technically proficient Property Litigation Associate to join their specialist team. The firm focuses on residential leasehold and landlord & tenant disputes, representing landlords and managing agents in both high-volume and complex, high-value matters.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Qualification: Solicitor with 3–5 years of Post-Qualification Experience (PQE).
• Core Expertise: Proven hands-on experience in property litigation, landlord & tenant law, leasehold disputes, and service charge matters.
• Tribunal Experience: Demonstrated experience with the First-tier Tribunal (Property Chamber).
• Desirable Skills: Knowledge of the Building Safety Act, Remediation Orders, and the Leasehold and Freehold Reform Act 2024.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Manage a caseload of medium to high-value property litigation matters independently.
• Draft pleadings, witness statements, and provide legal advice.
• Represent clients in the First-tier Tribunal (Property Chamber).
• Handle disputes involving service charges, breach of covenant, and forfeiture.
• Supervise junior team members and support senior colleagues on complex litigation.
