Kovai.co, a global B2B SaaS product company, is seeking an experienced professional for the position of Manager - Legal and Contracts based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The role serves as the primary legal point of contact across the Kovai group, managing commercial contracting, data privacy, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Qualified lawyer holding a recognized law degree.
• Minimum of 10 years of post-qualification experience (PQE).
• Demonstrated background in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial and technology-related contracts.
• Prior experience supporting technology, software, or SaaS business operations across multiple jurisdictions.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Act as the primary legal point of contact for the Kovai group, advising on commercial, corporate, and operational matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial agreements including SaaS subscriptions, vendor contracts, reseller agreements, and data processing addendums.
• Provide legal guidance on employment law, privacy and data protection, intellectual property, software licensing, and artificial intelligence compliance.
• Manage disputes, pre-litigation claims, and external legal counsel.
• Support corporate governance, contract lifecycle management (CLM) tool adoption (such as SpotDraft), and internal legal training initiatives.
