Associate – Corporate (M&A) – Atlanta

Contextual Overview

McDermott Will & Schulte is seeking a Corporate Associate with at least two years of experience to join its M&A practice in Atlanta, GA. The role involves managing transaction workstreams from inception through closing and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
• Minimum of 2 years of M&A experience, preferably within a large or sophisticated law firm.
• Must be admitted to the Bar in the state of Georgia.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating principal transaction documents (acquisition agreements, equity documents, etc.).
• Managing due diligence processes and identifying/escalating red flags.
• Driving deal execution and managing closing timelines.
• Coordinating with internal specialists in finance, tax, benefits, real estate, IP, and litigation.

Stipend, Compensation & Mode

The firm offers competitive compensation based on class year, ranging from $235,000 (2025/2026 class) to $455,000 (2018 and senior classes).
