Contextual Overview

Metlen Energy & Metals is a global industrial and energy company seeking a Subcontracts Supervisor to join their EGL1 Contracts & Commercial department within the Thermal Power & HVDC division. Based in Newcastle, this role focuses on the end-to-end management of subcontracts, ensuring commercial compliance and risk mitigation for large-scale energy projects.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Law, Quantity Surveying, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in contracts management within EPC, construction, energy, or infrastructure sectors.
• Strong understanding of contractual frameworks such as NEC, FIDIC, or equivalent.
• Proven ability to manage the full subcontract lifecycle, including variations, claims, and dispute resolution.
• Fluency in English is required.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Drafting, negotiating, and administering subcontracts to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Managing schedule performance and progress measurement (quantitative and qualitative).
• Identifying and mitigating contractual risks to prevent financial losses.
• Supporting the Senior Project Leadership team with contract execution, amendments, and close-out processes.
• Acting as the primary point of contact for contractual matters with internal teams and external stakeholders.
