Michael Page is recruiting for a Legal Counsel role on behalf of a fast-growing fintech client developing a procurement and trade finance ecosystem in the UAE. As the first in-house legal hire, the candidate will shape the legal function with broad exposure to lending, trade finance, and regulatory matters.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Mandatory: Fluent Arabic.
• Mid-level seniority with experience in UAE legal practices.
• Background in debt recovery, collections, pre-litigation, and commercial contract negotiation.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Lead debt recovery, collections, and pre-litigation activities across the UAE.
• Manage external counsel and oversee claims, enforcement, and litigation matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial, lending, and financing agreements.
• Advise on lending, trade finance, credit, and day-to-day commercial legal matters.
• Support new market entries, licensing activities, and corporate structuring.
• Develop legal processes, governance frameworks, and policies while monitoring regulatory developments.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: AED 324,000 – AED 396,000 per annum.
• Benefits: Family benefits and bonus potential.
• Type: Full-time.
