Junior Legal Counsel - Remote or Hybrid
Michael Page is recruiting for a Junior Legal Counsel position on behalf of a client operating in the healthcare technology sector. This full-time role offers a remote or hybrid working model, with an ideal expectation of visiting offices in Bournemouth or Bristol once a month. The position is designed for a developing legal professional to broaden their experience in a fast-moving SaaS environment.
Key Eligibility Criteria
- Legal degree or qualification from the UK or another jurisdiction.
- 2 to 3 years of experience handling commercial contracts.
- Demonstrated track record of personally drafting and negotiating agreements (not just supporting transactions).
- Working knowledge of UK GDPR and data protection principles applied in a commercial/contracts context.
Responsibilities & Scope of Work
- Commercial Contracting: Draft, review, and negotiate customer, supplier, partnership, and NDA agreements; manage contract renewals and terminations.
- Data Protection & Privacy: Review Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), support Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), and handle data subject rights requests.
- Legal Support: Act as first point of contact for routine legal queries, support investigations into disputes, and provide input into public sector tenders.
- Information Security: Support responses to customer due diligence and security reviews.
- Legal Operations: Maintain legal playbooks, improve workflows, and contribute to the use of AI/technology within the legal function.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per year (dependent on experience).
- Leave: 25 days basic annual leave + Bank Holidays + 1 paid birthday off. Additional service-related leave up to 5 days.
