Milton Keynes City Council is seeking a Senior Tribunal Officer to join their SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disability) service. This role is responsible for managing legal processes related to EHC plans, including representing the Council at SEND Tribunal hearings, mediation, and judicial reviews to ensure robust, evidence-based decision-making.
Key Eligibility Criteria
- Qualification: Level 5 qualification or above in a relevant field.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work
- Lead the management of appeals relating to Education, Health and Care Plan (EHC) decisions.
- Represent the Local Authority at SEND Tribunal hearings and mediation sessions.
- Provide expert legal guidance on SEND legislation to colleagues and partners.
- Oversee and provide line management/supervision to the tribunal team.
- Mitigate financial and reputational risks through robust evidence preparation.
Stipend, Compensation & Mode
Salary: £48,226 – £52,413 per annum. The role includes access to the Local Government Pension Scheme, 28 days annual leave (increasing to 32 days), and various employee benefits.
