Contextual Overview

The Ministry of Defence of Singapore (MINDEF) is seeking a Legal Counsel to join their intelligence organization. This role involves practicing law within the specialized field of intelligence, focusing on governance, legal rights, liabilities, and risk management within a complex operational environment.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Citizenship: Must be a Singapore Citizen.
• Qualification: Degree in law with valid qualifications to practice in Singapore or another jurisdiction.
• Experience: Minimum of three years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in private practice, in-house roles, or the Singapore Public Service.
• Skills: Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities; meticulous attention to legal accuracy; excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Advise the Security and Intelligence Division (SID) on legal rights, liabilities, and risks, including HR and contractual matters.
• Provide guidance on relevant comparative, corporate/commercial, administrative, and international law.
• Advise on internal policies and organizational practices.
• Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis.
