Legal Counsel

Contextual Overview

N Brown Group, a leading UK digital retail platform (JD Williams, Jacamo, Simply Be), is seeking a Legal Counsel to join their Legal Services team at their head office in Manchester. This role involves managing a variety of commercial legal issues, including intellectual property, IT, advertising, financial services, and consumer rights, within a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Qualified solicitor status.
• 2–4 years of Post-Qualification Experience (PQE).
• Proven expertise in commercial contract drafting and negotiation.
• Experience in financial services or retail is considered an asset but is not mandatory.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements (marketing, supply, IT, and consumer-facing terms).
• Provide legal advice to internal stakeholders across Marketing, IT, and Product departments.
• Manage small claims, escalated consumer/supplier disputes, and litigation strategy.
• Support GDPR compliance and AI project implementation.
• Monitor and advise on legislative/regulatory changes impacting the business.

Stipend, Compensation & Mode

Compensation: Competitive salary (Not specified). Includes annual bonus, company pension (up to 8% contribution), private medical insurance, and life assurance.

Mode: Hybrid working.
