Legal Counsel - Compliance

Contextual Overview

Nexans is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel - Compliance to join their Group Legal & Compliance function based in Courbevoie, France. This strategic role involves managing global compliance frameworks, leading internal investigations, and driving the adoption of AI-enabled tools to enhance compliance operations within a leading international electrification company.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Experience: Approximately 8–15 years in Legal, Ethics & Compliance, or Regulatory functions within a multinational organization or international law firm.
• Technical Expertise: Proven knowledge of anti-bribery & corruption, competition law, trade sanctions, and export controls.
• Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead complex investigations and integrate AI-enabled solutions into compliance processes.
• Languages: Fluency in English is essential; French is highly desirable.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Lead complex litigation support, internal investigations, and regulatory enquiries.
• Drive the evolution of the global compliance program and governance policies.
• Partner with senior business leaders to provide risk-based commercial advice.
• Accelerate the adoption of AI-enabled tools to improve compliance efficiency and data-driven decision-making.
• Monitor emerging global legislation regarding digital technologies and AI.
