Contextual Overview

Nordplay Group, an iGaming company based in Sliema, Malta, is seeking a General Counsel to join their Legal & Compliance team. This is a senior, hands-on role responsible for managing legal matters across the group, including commercial agreements, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance within the iGaming sector.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Language: Must be a native Swedish or Finnish speaker.
• Experience: Proven legal background with experience in EU jurisdictions and the iGaming industry.
• Expertise: Solid understanding of gambling regulation, licensing, and commercial contract negotiation.
• Skills: Ability to provide clear, independent legal advice to management and work autonomously in a flat organizational structure.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements.
• Manage corporate governance, board matters, and internal policies.
• Advise on gambling regulations, licensing, AML, and responsible gambling.
• Oversee data protection (GDPR) and intellectual property matters.
• Support corporate transactions and entry into new markets.
