Legal Counsel – Nouryon | Amsterdam, Netherlands
Contextual Overview
Nouryon, a global specialty chemicals company headquartered in Amsterdam, is hiring a Legal Counsel on a permanent, full-time, on-site basis. The role sits within the EMEA legal function and focuses on supporting European manufacturing sites and businesses across environmental, health & safety (HSE), regulatory compliance, and commercial legal matters. The position reports directly to the Vice President, General Counsel (Nordics / EMEA).
Key Eligibility Criteria
- Law degree from a well-respected European university
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant legal working experience
- Strong background at a reputable law firm, in-house legal department, or a combination of both
- Experience advising on HSE, environmental, or regulatory matters in a manufacturing or industrial environment is a plus
- Fluency in English (mandatory)
Responsibilities & Scope of Work
- Draft and negotiate a variety of commercial and other agreements; handle disputes and litigation
- Collaborate with legal, operations, manufacturing, supply chain, commercial, and regulatory teams to manage legal risk
- Serve as primary legal advisor to the Integrated Supply Chain team on HSE-related matters across European manufacturing facilities
- Support the Product Safety and Regulatory Affairs (PSRA) team on regulatory compliance matters, including REACH
- Handle other legal matters as they arise, including corporate and disputes work
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual gross salary: EUR 116,000 – 135,000
- Variable bonus
