Senior Legal Counsel

Contextual Overview

OceanaGold Corporation, a global intermediate gold and copper producer, is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to be based in Vancouver, British Columbia. The role involves providing strategic legal advice on corporate, commercial, securities, compliance, and employment matters, supporting the company's operations across Canada and the U.S.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Minimum of 8+ years of post-qualification experience at a recognized law firm or in-house.
• Active member in good standing of a law society in Canada.
• Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from a recognized law school.
• Must possess valid working rights in Canada (no visa sponsorship available).

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Advise on complex legal matters and procurement agreements.
• Support continuous disclosure reporting, including annual information forms and financial statement reviews.
• Manage litigation, disputes, and regulatory risk mitigation.
• Assist with corporate governance, compliance with securities regulations, and corporate/commercial transactions (M&A).
• Act as the primary legal contact for the Haile Gold Mine (USA).

Stipend, Compensation & Mode

Annual Salary: $140,000 - $180,000 (plus short-term and long-term bonuses).
