Legal Counsel at Optiver, Singapore

Optiver is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join their Singapore team. This role serves as the primary legal adviser in the jurisdiction, supporting the firm's growth in cash, ETF equity derivatives, and OTC trading markets. The successful candidate will work closely with the APAC Legal team and local management to provide regulatory, commercial, and strategic legal support.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Qualification: Singapore qualified lawyer.
• Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in a top-tier law firm or in-house legal department.
• Specialization: Proven expertise in financial markets, specifically with ISDA contractual frameworks (Master, Schedule, CSA, etc.) and equity derivatives.
• Preference: Previous in-house experience at an investment bank or buy-side firm is highly preferred.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Provide legal structuring, risk assessments, and regulatory advice for MAS-licensed trading initiatives.
• Manage commercial contracting, including software, IT supply, and market data agreements.
• Support OTC product expansion, including equity options and total return swaps.
• Advise on corporate matters including employment, IP, and data privacy.
• Collaborate with regional and global legal teams on governance, policy design, and risk control frameworks.

Stipend, Compensation & Mode

Mode: Full-time, On-site.

Compensation: Competitive salary with a performance-based bonus structure.
