Municipal Associate Attorney

Contextual Overview

Orion Placement is seeking a Municipal Associate Attorney for a full-time position located in Seattle, WA (with a flexible hybrid schedule). The role involves advising city councils, mayors, municipal staff, boards, and commissions across a diverse mix of transactional, advisory, litigation, and administrative municipal law matters.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Active Washington State bar license required.
• 1+ year of municipal law experience required.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.
• Litigation experience and strong academic credentials preferred.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Advise city councils, mayors, municipal staff, boards, and commissions on various legal matters.
• Research and analyze complex municipal law questions and draft ordinances, resolutions, policies, and contracts.
• Represent municipal clients in litigation, administrative appeals, hearings, and other proceedings.
• Ensure compliance with state, federal, and local laws, including Public Records Act requirements.
• Attend city council, board, and commission meetings to provide legal support.

Stipend, Compensation & Mode

Base Pay Range: $145,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year plus bonus opportunities and a strong benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)/profit sharing.

Mode: Hybrid (Seattle, WA).
