The role focuses on advising trade unions, staff associations, and individual claimants on contentious employment law, regulatory issues, pensions, and representation in the Employment Tribunal and civil courts.
Key Eligibility Criteria
- Qualification: SRA Qualified Solicitor.
- Experience Level: 5 to 8 years of post-qualification experience (PQE).
- Domain Expertise: Current experience in a recognised employment legal team or in-house department with in-depth knowledge of employment law and claimant-side work.
- Case Handling: Demonstrated ability to manage a caseload of employment tribunal claims through to final trial.
- Desirable Experience: Familiarity with Civil Procedure Rules, regulatory and pension work, and business development.
Responsibilities & Scope of Work
- Providing legal assessments on the merits of potential tribunal, regulatory, pension, and employment claims.
- Managing employment tribunal and pension litigation cases.
- Conducting advocacy at preliminary employment tribunal hearings.
- Drafting and reviewing pleadings, legal submissions, and case documents.
- Providing day-to-day legal advice and training to trade union and individual clients.
- Participating in networking and business development activities.
