Senior Legal Counsel

Contextual Overview

Pentasia is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel on behalf of a reputable iGaming business based in Sliema, Malta. Operating on a hybrid work schedule, the successful candidate will primarily focus on drafting and negotiating key commercial contracts with customers and suppliers, alongside broader responsibilities across IP, data protection, corporate affairs, employment law, and dispute resolution.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Experience: Ideally 7+ years PQE (used as a guide; all candidates with relevant skills will be considered).
• Commercial Expertise: Demonstrated experience handling complex commercial transactions and providing strategic legal advice directly to in-house stakeholders.
• Domain Knowledge: Background in key legal areas including IP, corporate law, and/or dispute resolution.
• Background: Strong academic credentials, private practice training, and preferred in-house experience (including secondments).
• Core Skills: Ability to analyze complex issues, present succinct solutions, and advise on unfamiliar legal topics or foreign jurisdictions using general commercial law principles.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Draft and negotiate core commercial contracts with business customers and suppliers.
• Deliver strategic legal counsel to key internal business stakeholders.
• Manage legal matters related to IP, data protection, corporate governance, employment, and dispute resolution.
