Assistant General Counsel, Legal & Business Affairs - Ad Tech & Media Transactions

Roku is seeking an experienced Assistant General Counsel to join its Legal Ad Partnerships & Sales (LAPS) team. This senior-level role focuses on supporting Roku's advertising business by structuring and negotiating complex commercial agreements within the ad tech and media ecosystem, while providing guidance on data privacy and regulatory compliance.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Education: J.D. from a U.S. accredited law school.
• Licensure: Active bar membership in New York or California.
• Experience: Minimum 10 years of combined transactional legal experience (law firm and/or in-house) with a focus on internet, technology, or media companies.
• Expertise: Deep knowledge of ad tech transactional work, programmatic ecosystems, and data privacy laws.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Draft and negotiate commercial agreements including publisher/content provider contracts, DSP/SSP agreements, data licenses, and insertion orders.
• Advise on data privacy considerations within commercial transactions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with ad sales, product, engineering, and finance teams.
• Develop scalable, risk-calibrated legal processes.
• Utilize AI-powered legal tools to optimize contract review and team workflows.

Stipend, Compensation & Mode

Base Salary: $260,000 – $280,000 per annum, plus equity and comprehensive benefits package.
