Senior Legal Counsel - Privacy

Samsung Electronics America is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join their legal team in Plano, Texas. This role focuses on privacy and data security compliance, requiring an experienced attorney to advise on complex regulatory landscapes, manage data privacy impact assessments, and support business units in integrating privacy considerations into their operations.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
• Active license to practice law in a U.S. state bar in good standing.
• 5-8 years of total legal experience, including at least 3 years of dedicated experience in data privacy (law firm or in-house).
• Expertise in U.S. privacy laws (CPRA, COPPA, TCPA).

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Advise on compliance with CCPA, COPPA, and other state/federal privacy regulations.
• Develop and implement comprehensive privacy policies and procedures.
• Conduct data privacy impact assessments and manage data breach response processes.
• Draft and negotiate vendor and customer contracts with a focus on privacy and information security.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR, Marketing, and the Korea HQ Privacy team.
