Senior Counsel - Energy / Renewables

Contextual Overview

SD Legal is recruiting a Senior Counsel specializing in Energy / Renewables for a highly regarded MNC with an established legal team based at its regional headquarters in Singapore. This is a new role designed to support APAC business leaders across key and complex Asian markets.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Experience: 7 - 12 Post Qualification Experience (PQE).
• Background: Strong background in energy and transactional work.
• Training: Tier 1 law firm training, ideally featuring secondments and/or in-house exposure.
• Competencies: Proven ability to work regionally, manage complex negotiations independently, and operate effectively within a global matrix organization.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Play a lead role in supporting APAC-focused transaction teams from origination and structuring through to negotiation and closure.
• Support in-country leaders on a diverse range of commercial and energy-focused agreements.
• Collaborate closely with regulators to account for key legislative and compliance changes throughout ongoing transactions.
• Handle complex matters across key Asian markets such as Japan and Korea.
