Deputy General Counsel at Security and Intelligence Division (SID)

The Security and Intelligence Division (SID) in Singapore is recruiting a Deputy General Counsel to provide strategic legal leadership within an intelligence organisation. This role involves practicing law in the unique field of intelligence, focusing on governance, risk assessment, and policy development.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Citizenship: Singapore Citizens only.
• Experience: At least 10-15 years' post-qualification experience in private or public legal practice.
• Leadership: Team leadership experience is preferred.
• Legal Expertise: Strong understanding and experience in comparative, commercial, civil, administrative, or international law.
• Skills: Strong leadership, people management, risk anticipation, and written/verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Advise SID on legal rights, liabilities, and risks.
• Provide advice on relevant comparative law.
• Assess trends in legal issues relevant to intelligence organisations.
• Review and refine SID's internal policies and practices.
• Provide technical and strategic leadership to the legal team.
• Design and implement workplace processes aligned with future trends.
• Mentor and develop junior team members.
