Legal Counsel, EMEA at Solenis
Solenis, a leading global producer of specialty chemicals, is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its EMEA Legal team. The role involves providing comprehensive legal support to business stakeholders across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, focusing on commercial, compliance, and corporate matters in a dynamic, international environment.
Key Eligibility Criteria
- Education: Masterโs degree in law (LL.M) or equivalent.
- Licensure: Admitted to the bar in a European jurisdiction.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of postgraduate legal experience in a reputable law firm and/or as in-house counsel.
- Languages: Fluency in English is required; additional languages are an advantage.
- Work Authorization: Candidates must already have the right to work in the EU in their country of residence. Relocation assistance and visa support are not offered.
Responsibilities & Scope of Work
- Negotiate, prepare, and manage commercial contracts (sales, distribution, toll manufacturing, procurement, NDAs).
- Handle disputes, coordinate litigation, and facilitate settlement of customer pre-suit claims.
- Advise on debtor/creditor rights, collection, and bankruptcy matters.
- Support M&A deal teams, joint ventures, and post-closing integrations.
- Provide compliance counsel regarding FCPA, UK Bribery Act, and local regulations; conduct internal investigations.
- Advise on data privacy (including GDPR) and other privacy requirements.
- Manage front-line inquiries on employment, intellectual property, and environmental/health/safety issues.
- Provide corporate governance support and oversee outside counsel performance and costs.
