SquareTrade (Allstate Protection Plans) is seeking a Senior Counsel to join their legal team in San Francisco, CA. The role involves providing strategic legal counsel across commercial contracts, employment law, data privacy, and corporate governance for a rapidly growing global enterprise.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Experience: Minimum 12 years of relevant legal experience (4+ years of in-house experience preferred).
• Education: JD from an accredited law school.
• Licensure: Active California bar membership in good standing.
• Skills: Proficiency in drafting/negotiating commercial agreements; experience in employment law, litigation, or data security is a plus.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Draft and manage complex commercial agreements, including retailer partnerships and supply chain deals.
• Lead North American product development and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Provide strategic advisory support on global employment, privacy, and corporate governance matters.
• Manage outside counsel and supervise/mentor other attorneys.
• Drive independent legal projects to improve operational efficiency.

Stipend & Compensation

Base Salary Range: $210,000 – $280,000 per annum, supplemented by comprehensive benefits including 401(k) matching, wellness stipends, and tuition reimbursement.
