Regional Counsel, Northern Europe, Benelux

Contextual Overview

Stryker is seeking a Regional Counsel, Northern Europe, Benelux based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The role provides practical, commercially focused legal support for Stryker's operations across Northern Europe, with primary responsibility for the Benelux region alongside exposure to Nordic matters. The position entails partnering with commercial leadership, sales, tender, finance, compliance, and regulatory teams to manage legal risk and facilitate business growth.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Qualifications: Law degree and admission to practice law as in-house counsel.
• Experience: Qualified lawyer with approximately 6 to 8 years of relevant post-qualification experience (PQE).
• Language Proficiency: Excellent written and spoken English and Dutch (required). French or additional Northern European language skills are preferred.
• Domain Expertise: Strong commercial contracting experience, stakeholder management skills, and familiarity with AI-enabled legal technologies or contract lifecycle management tools.
• Preferred Industry Experience: Background in medical devices, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or other highly regulated healthcare industries.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Serve as strategic legal advisor to the Benelux business and support cross-country projects across Northern Europe.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including tender/customer contracts, framework agreements, equipment leases, service models, distribution contracts, and HCP/HCO agreements.
• Provide guidance on public procurement, healthcare regulations, and corporate compliance standards.
• Manage customer escalations, legal disputes, product/service legal issues, and contract risk mitigations.
• Collaborate with global legal centers of expertise on data privacy, IP, employment law, litigation, and regulatory matters.

Stipend, Compensation & Mode

Compensation: €91,700 - €170,200 EUR per annum (Netherlands base pay range), plus eligibility for incentive compensation (bonuses/commissions) and comprehensive corporate benefits.

Employment Mode: Full-time.
