Director, Trust & Safety

Contextual Overview

Suno, an AI music and consumer entertainment platform, is hiring a Director, Trust & Safety. Operating in a hybrid work environment across San Francisco, NYC, or Omaha, the Director will lead enforcement operations and policy, partnering closely with Product, Engineering, and Legal to scale content moderation, combat fraud, manage IP/copyright workflows, and ensure compliance with emerging AI regulations such as the DSA and OSA.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Experience: 8+ years in trust & safety, integrity, or content operations, including 4+ years of leading teams through scale inflections.
• Domain Expertise: Demonstrated ownership of enforcement metrics (automation rate, decision accuracy, cost per action) at a UGC or generative AI platform.
• Technical Governance: Proven track record building or governing model-assisted enforcement pipelines with human-in-the-loop design and audit accountability.
• Nice to Have: Music/media/IP-adjacent platform experience, rights-matching abuse pattern fluency, and operational exposure to DSA, OSA, or emerging AI-content regulatory regimes.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Build and direct the Trust & Safety team, overseeing enforcement operations, policy, vendor programs, quality management, and training.
• Own enforcement economics end-to-end, including cost per decision, precision/recall tradeoffs, automation targets, and vendor vs. in-house resource allocation.
• Govern AI-assisted decisioning systems, human-in-the-loop thresholds, appeals architecture, and audit mechanisms for automated actions.
• Manage BPO relationships and vendor partnerships, covering selection, contract negotiations, capacity planning, and quality assurance.
• Execute the operational layer of music rights enforcement, addressing rights-matching abuse, impersonation, and copyright workflows in close collaboration with Legal.
• Translate regulatory frameworks (DSA, OSA, and emerging AI regulations) into operational tooling, process, and measurable readiness.

Stipend, Compensation & Mode

• Compensation: $195,200 – $256,200 per year.
• Employment Type: Full-time.
• Work Mode: Hybrid (San Francisco, CA; New York, NY; or Omaha, NE).
