Swissport, the world's largest provider of ground handling, cargo, and aviation-related services, is seeking a Regional Legal Counsel LATAM to be based in its offices in Mexico City. The role serves as a business partner to the Latin American region, focusing on commercial, corporate, compliance, and transactional matters.
Key Eligibility Criteria
- Qualification: Mexico Attorney at Law qualification.
- Experience: 8+ years of in-house and law firm commercial and corporate legal experience, preferably within the aviation and/or freight transport industry.
- Language Proficiency: Proficiency in Spanish and English (Swissport Group business language) with demonstrated ability to read, write, and negotiate legal documents in English. A good command of Portuguese is considered a plus.
- Skills: Strong business acumen, cross-border transactional experience, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities & Scope of Work
- Collaborate with the Latin American executive team and global legal team on commercial, corporate, risk, and compliance matters.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts, leases, licenses, and confidentiality agreements.
- Support the corporate governance of regional subsidiaries and monitor business activities for legal and compliance risks.
- Manage litigation, administrative proceedings, and coordinate with outside counsel.
- Assist with regulatory compliance including antitrust laws, anti-bribery and corruption laws, and equal opportunity regulations.
- Support HR on employment law matters and assist with M&A projects.
