Associate Attorney – IDEA & Special Education Litigation

THE LAW FIRM OF TAMARA ROFF, P.C. is seeking an Associate Attorney to independently manage a caseload representing families of students with disabilities. The firm specializes in the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and local implementing regulations, focusing on securing appropriate educational services from local school districts through settlement and administrative law litigation.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Bar Admission: New York State (NYS) Bar admission is mandatory.
• Experience: Litigation experience is required; experience/knowledge of IDEA and special education is preferred.
• Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and legal knowledge.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Independently manage a caseload involving both settlement negotiations and litigation in administrative law forums.
• Provide legal support and counsel to clients and maintain client relationships.
• Conduct legal research and drafting.
• Review settlement agreements.
• Manage all phases of litigation, including preparing openings, closings, testimony, and cross-examination.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $100,000+ (Higher salary possible depending on experience).
• Benefits: Health Insurance and 401K.

Location & Work Mode

Remote with a requirement to be in-office 1 day per week at the firm's Midtown Manhattan location.
