Contextual Overview

TransUnion is seeking a Bilingual Senior Commercial Lawyer to join their team in Burlington, Ontario. This role involves providing legal counsel on complex commercial matters, ensuring regulatory compliance (including PIPEDA and consumer reporting legislation), and drafting/negotiating complex commercial contracts. The position is remote with requirements for occasional in-person attendance and travel.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Education: J.D. or LLB from a recognized law school.
• Licensure: Must be a member in good standing of a law society in any Canadian province.
• Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of professional legal experience.
• Language: Must be bilingual (English and French).

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Provide legal support to business units on complex matters with significant operational impact.
• Review, draft, and negotiate complex commercial contracts, particularly those involving technology and the transfer of personal information.
• Advise senior management on legislative developments and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct internal training for business teams and maintain professional relationships across the organization.

Stipend, Compensation & Mode

Annual Salary: $144,000 - $198,000 (based on experience, skills, and location). This is a full-time, remote-eligible position.
