Volue, an international technology and software solutions company powering the European energy sector across 40+ countries, is inviting applications for the position of Senior Legal Counsel, Compliance & Regulatory based in Woj. Pomorskie, Poland. Starting in January 2027, this foundational role reports directly to the General Counsel and is tasked with building and leading Volue's Group-wide compliance framework from the ground up, spanning business integrity, regulatory affairs, AI governance, cybersecurity resilience, and energy trading regulations.
Key Eligibility Criteria
- Qualification: Qualified lawyer in a relevant European jurisdiction.
- Experience: Approximately 10+ years of post-qualification experience (PQE), including significant compliance and regulatory experience in an international tech, software, or SaaS business.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Proven understanding of REMIT (energy trading), EU AI Act, NIS2, cybersecurity, GDPR, anti-bribery & corruption (ABC), sanctions, and ESG supply-chain compliance.
- Language & Mobility: Professional fluency in English; willingness and ability to travel internationally.
- Desirable: Exposure to wholesale energy markets/trading, IAPP certifications (CIPP/E, CIPM, AIGP), or ISO standards (ISO 27001, 37301, 42001).
Responsibilities & Scope of Work
- Design, implement, and maintain the Group compliance framework, governance, risk assessment controls, and policy architecture.
- Lead legal and regulatory compliance for REMIT-regulated energy activities and advise on tech/trading product compliance.
- Oversee AI governance (EU AI Act), NIS2 operational resilience, cybersecurity incidents, and third-party risk management in coordination with InfoSec functions.
- Manage anti-bribery/corruption, trade sanctions, competition law, whistleblowing mechanisms, and KYB due diligence.
- Drive Group GDPR compliance, privacy-by-design, data protection impact assessments (DPIAs), and international data transfers.
- Advise on regulatory aspects of customer contracts, tenders, market entry, product launches, and M&A transactions.

- Salary: 360,000 โ 420,000 PLN per year (aligned with EU Pay Transparency Directive).
