Senior Legal Counsel – Renewable Energy

Contextual Overview

Yellow Door Energy, a leading sustainable energy partner in the Middle East and Africa, is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join their legal team at their headquarters in Dubai. The role involves providing commercially focused legal support for renewable energy projects, including project development, commercial contracting, and transaction execution.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law with a professional qualification (solicitor, barrister, attorney, or equivalent).
• Minimum of 7 years of post-qualification legal experience.
• Strong background in renewable energy, power, infrastructure, or construction law.
• Experience in drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts (PPAs, EPC, O&M).
• Excellent written and spoken English proficiency.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Draft, review, and negotiate project agreements including PPAs, solar leases, EPC, and supply contracts.
• Advise on project development, risk allocation, and transaction execution.
• Support corporate matters including M&A, joint ventures, financing, and restructuring.
• Manage external counsel and provide legal input on regulatory matters.
• Improve internal legal templates, processes, and playbooks.
